January News- When God Show's Up and Show's Out

Friday, February 1, 2019 •

Praise the Lord,

The month of January has seemed to fly by as 2019 began a whirlwind of sorts at Apostolic Pentecostal Church. When we look back at the first month of the year we can see God, as Pastor Riggs states, "SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT!"

We are very thankful that God's hand of protection covered our Sunday School Superintendent, Bro. Travis Jones and his family. The Jones family were involved in a head on collision while driving home from a Sunday Evening Service. The wreck resulted in a few broken bones and bumps and bruises. Thankfully, everyone involved in the wreck survived what looked like a horrible situation. Our continued prayers are with the Jones family as they still continue to heal.

The Lord moved in a mighty way with our founding Pastor's wife, Sis. Patricia Brown.  While at the doctors office for an appointment Sis. Brown became ill and collapsed requiring life saving measures by medical professions. What looked like to man as a very grim situation, the Lord proved otherwise. We are happy to report that Sis. Brown has left the hospital and is making strides to return home and to Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

A great milestone  happened for APCGI as we celebrated our 54th Anniversary at 1202 E. 5th Street. On January 31, 1965 Bro. and Sis. Kenneth E. Brown held there first church service with a 2:00pm service with Bro. Berchett Howard as Master of Ceremonies and Rev. Frank Hall as the special speaker. Bro. Brown was installed as Pastor on that Sunday afternoon. We are thankful that the work that started 54 years ago continues today, and will continue on as the Lord tarries.

We are extremely thankful for not only the above mentioned testimonies, but the continued answered prayers of strength; healing and deliverance.  As the song written by Bro. Don Johnson said, "God is so good to me; yes He's so good to me. More than this world could be, He's so good to me. His Spirit came to me, and gave me victory. God is so good to me, I can't complain."   No matter the good days or bad days. The ups and downs, we can't complain.

Stay up to date with all of our service times by checking out our calendar.
